Up Next is a Cool Civil War Antique A.M. Waters & Co U.S. Model 1842 Pistol – 1ST TYPE .54 cal., lockplate marked ahead of hammer with eagle, "A.H. WATERS & CO.", "MILBURY, MASS.", with "1844" below, single shot, 8 1/2 in. round smoothbore barrel, Less than 200 mfg. circa 1840s. Waters produced this specimen in order to compete with the H. Aston & Ira N. Johnson’s Model 1842 Pistol. Asa H. Waters was the son of Asa Waters II. Contractor of various U.S. military pistols and muskets.
