WWII German K98 Dress Bayonet and Frog Scabbard- Ricasso shows "E. Pack & Sohne Solingen" – The K-98 dress bayonet was a dress version of the Combat style. It was worn by enlisted and NCO personnel. The bayonet was finished with a high-quality nickel plating, black checkered Bakelite or genuine stag grip plates and black painted scabbard. The choice of blade length was left to the purchaser, being nickel-plated short or long version. There was a red or green colored felt insert in the rifle slot and the bayonet was suspended from a black or brown leather frog. Overall length of this Knife is approx 12.25" with a blade approx 7.75" in length. This short bayonet has a nice hilt with fine nickel plating. The mortise button and lock work and the bayonet also has a red felt. The grip plates are both in good condition, retained by steel rivets with dressed heads. please refer to pictures when bidding this lot.
