Up Next We Have a Scarce Factory Engraved Brooklyn Arms Slocum Front Loading Pocket Pistol chambered in .32, The Slocum was a work-around of Smith & Wesson’s possession of Rollin White’s patent on bored-through cylinders and was manufactured from 1863 to 1864. The chambers are individual components that slide forward over the ejector rod for loading and unloading. This example has a smooth rounded butt wood grip. The Brass frame features scroll work on the sides behind the cylinder and behind the hammer, with engraved borders on the sides, top and backstrap. The top of the barrel is marked “B.A.Co PATENT APRIL 14th 1863”. Serial # 3522 on the underside of the barrel, checkered spur trigger. Some 10,000 were produced , 1863-1864.
