French 1813 Pattern Light Cavalry Trooper?s Sword- Napoleonic Saber with Scabbard – Napoleon’s cavalry was the bane of the European battlefield. His troops were equipped with first rate blades, manufactured in a state-of-the-art factory dedicated to producing the finest edged weapons of the day. Their sabers possessed excellent cutting and slashing capability and still remained useful for a thrust. In fact, they were so popular that they remained in use long after Napoleon’s fall and were wielded by both sides in the American Civil War. NOTE: appears is could be Replica – overall length is approx 38.5". The blade is approx 33.5", with an elegantly curved 1055 high carbon steel blade and long, wide fuller, culminating in a very sharp, but practical point. The grip is equally well made. It is wrapped in black leather and strongly protected by a stout, brass three bar hilt. The whole package comes with a heavy-duty, hand-polished steel scabbard with dual rings for attachment to a baldric or sword belt. The side of the blade reads "M F ture IMPC De Klingenthal Octobre 1813" please review the pictures and make your own determination, we are not sword experts. But Super cool.
