stand for “Deutsche Angelgeräte Manufaktur” (meaning “German Fishing Tackle Manufacturer”). The DAM company was founded in 1902 by Fritz Ziegenspeck, who in 1887 was the owner of a blacksmith, sports and fishing factory, a business started by his older brother Oscar Ziegenspeck in Berlin in 1875.
