lot contains one US M4 Bayonet with U.S. M8A1 Scabbard Marked Germany. Bayonet-knife for use on the caliber .30 U.S. Carbine M1. The M4 bayonet was also used on the selective-fire M2 Carbine which was developed post-War. The M4 bayonet was an adaptation of the M3 combat knife, made by changing the guard and pommel to enable mounting as a bayonet, this one could be 1960’s Commercial M4 Bayonet as there is not a MFG name. The olive drab Scabbard shows the U.S. M8A1 Germany imprint on the metal flange, This design features a thermoplastic impregnated cotton fabric body, metal throat, and canvas frog and securing strap with a steel pistol belt hook. The interior of the two snaps show Eickhorn Soligen. The canvas top snap goes left over right.
