Up Next We Have a Sealed Case of 12 Individual MRE’s. More From The Internet Below: Flameless Ration Heaters (FRH) are included. Below is a list of meals and accessories that may be included in Case "B". Each meal is sealed in a pouch and labled as Menu (number) and contains the NSN number. Made for the government by various current contractors, each carton is marked property of the U.S. Government. The MREs may be legally sold for consumer consumption since they were bought directly from a U.S. Base. MRE’s are the main operational food ration for the United States Armed Forces. It originated from the c-rations and k-rations from World War II, and later developed into MCI (Meal, Combat, Individual) rations used in Korea and Vietnam. In 1980 the MRE was developed and is still the U.S. Army’s primary ration. Each MRE provides an average of 1,250 calories (13% protein, 36% fat, and 51% carbohydrates) and 1/3 of the Military Recommended Daily Allowance of vitamins and minerals. A full day?s worth of meals would consist of three packages of MREs. The case contains 12 meals, each meal may contain one entree, side dish, snack, condiments, beverage mix, and a heater.
