This is an example of a scarce pre WWII German K98 rifle that was manufactured by the Erfurt Arsenal. The top of the receiver ring is marked “27 / 1938”, the right side with three “eagle/77” proofs and the left side with an eagle proof and the serial number 2623 The left side wall is marked “Mod. 98.”. The left rear of the barrel is marked with an eagle proof and the matching serial number. Inverted “V” front ramp sight and rear tangent sight graduated to 2000 meters. Mounted with a walnut stock and handguard, Complete with a leather sling, Barrel Cap Dust Cover, and Cleaning Rod. Very Clean Waffenamts.
