Gun Collectors Dream Auction #74 Mixed Guns
Lot 126:
Up for auction is a Restored Winchester Model 63 chambered in the .22 LR Superspeed -super X, comes with a barrel that measures approx 23″ in length, Serial # 58893 Dates To 1946. Overall Appears in Good Restored Condition. Introduced in 1933, the Model 63 was the first semi auto rifle offered by Winchester chambered for the standard .22 Long Rifle cartridge. It had the square receiver that was a trademark of all early Winchester semi automatic rifles. It has a tubular magazine for loading in the butt stock which is then fed into the receiver where the bolt picks up. Unscrewing a knurled bolt at the rear of the receiver allowed the butt/trigger unit assembly to be separated from the barrel/forearm assembly, this makes it easier to clean and take down into a shorter package for storage.
