Lot 1085:
20 Rounds WWII German 8x56R M.30 Mannlicher Ammunition with Stripper Clips in Original Boxes, 1938-1939
Sold for: $30
Description
A lot of 20 Rounds of WWII German 8x56R M.30 Mannlicher Ammunition, presented in two original cardboard ammunition boxes. The boxes are dated “XII. 1938” (December 1938) and “II. 1939” (February 1939), consistent with pre-World War II German military production. Each box features a paper label detailing its contents as “10 Stück” (10 Pieces) of “8 mm M 30 scharfe S-Patronen” from “Rottw.” (Rottweil), bearing the manufacturer code “P 635” and a clear German Waffenamt eagle-over-swastika inspection mark. Accompanying these are two black metallic or composite stripper clips, each loaded with five brass-cased cartridges with copper-tipped projectiles, matching the 8x56R caliber and exhibiting headstamps indicating “19” (likely 1939).
Condition report:
The ammunition appears in generally bright, clean condition with some minor tarnishing on the brass. The cardboard boxes show expected age-related wear, creasing, and discoloration, though their labels remain largely legible.
