Sold for: $120
Description
A WWII Japanese Type 30 Arisaka bayonet with its matching metal scabbard. The bayonet features a steel blade with a single edge and a central fuller, a steel crossguard with a downward-curving quillon, a two-piece wooden grip secured by two rivets, and a steel pommel with a rifle-mounting slot. The blade’s ricasso bears faintly visible French text, “MANUFACTURE D’ARMES SAINT-ÉTIENNE”, along with circular proof marks. The pommel is stamped “H 140 9” and includes a small circular mark, with a similar mark present on the crossguard.
Condition report:
Well-used condition. Significant surface pitting, oxidation, and scratches are present across all steel components, including the blade, crossguard, pommel, and scabbard. The wooden grip shows wear and discoloration consistent with age and use but remains structurally sound. No apparent repairs or major structural damage.
