Description
A collection of four military and commemorative badges and medals, primarily crafted from various metals with enamel and fabric components, including two Vietnamese National Liberation Front (NLF) / Viet Cong medals and two Soviet-era badges. The leftmost item is a shield-shaped Soviet Guards badge (‘ГВАРДИЯ’ – Guards, ‘СССР’ – USSR), featuring a red enameled banner, a central white star with red accents, and a screw-back attachment. Next is a smaller red enameled five-pointed star badge with a gold-tone hammer and sickle emblem, secured by two rear prongs. The third item is a silver-tone five-pointed star medal, identified by web intelligence as a Vietnamese National Liberation Front (NLF) ‘Quyết Thắng’ (Resolution For Victory) Decoration. It is suspended from a rectangular bar with a red, blue, and yellow striped ribbon, inscribed ‘QUYẾT THẮNG’ along its bottom edge, and features a pin-back fastener. The rightmost item is a gold-tone multi-pointed starburst medal, identified by web intelligence as a Vietnamese National Liberation Front (NLF) ‘Kháng Chiến’ (Resistance / War of Resistance) Medal. It is similarly suspended from a rectangular bar with a red and yellow striped ribbon, bearing the inscription ‘KHÁNG CHIẾN’ at its base, also with a pin-back.
Condition report:
All items exhibit varying degrees of surface wear, patination, or minor corrosion consistent with their age and use. The Soviet Guards badge shows significant wear, enamel loss, and tarnishing. The smaller red enameled star badge appears in good overall condition. Both the \'Quyết Thắng\' and \'Kháng Chiến\' medals show surface wear and patination.
