Description

A Camillus USAF Pilot Survival Knife, dating to the Vietnam War era, complete with its original leather sheath. The fixed-blade knife features a metal blade with a clip point and serrated spine. The handle is constructed from stacked leather washers, complemented by a metal guard and a hex-nut pommel. The light brown leather sheath includes a dark plastic or metal insert, secured by brass-toned rivets, and a leather retention strap with a snap closure. Visible markings on the sheath include “B 4-4 ALSE” handwritten in marker on the front, and partially obscured stamped text “C-GS-02” on the rear insert.

Condition report:

Both the knife and sheath exhibit significant wear, including scratches, nicks, discoloration, and material degradation consistent with heavy use and age. The blade shows pitting, surface oxidation, and sharpening marks. The stacked leather handle is worn, discolored, and shows some material loss. The metal guard and pommel are oxidized and scuffed. The leather sheath is dry, scuffed, and discolored, with some surface cracking and loss of finish. The brass-toned rivets show verdigris. The snap closure is functional but shows wear.
