A USGI Military M19A1 Ammunition Can. This utilitarian olive drab green painted metal container features a hinged lid with a carrying handle and a side-mounted latch. Its robust, unadorned design is characteristic of military or industrial equipment. One end of the container is marked ’19’ above ‘M19A1’. Such cans were commonly used for storing and transporting various calibers of ammunition, including .30 caliber cartridges, and are generally associated with mid-20th century to contemporary military production.
