Sold for: $75
Description
A Yugoslavian M48 Mauser bayonet with its matching metal scabbard, marked ‘ПРЕДУЗЕТЕ 44’ (Factory/Enterprise 44). The bayonet features a single-edged, blued steel blade with a fuller, a steel crossguard with a muzzle ring, and dark wooden grip panels secured by rivets. The blade ricasso bears the Cyrillic inscription ‘ПРЕДУЗЕТЕ 44’, indicating a 1944 production. The wooden grip panels are visibly worn and feature carved initials ‘TM’ or ‘M’. The accompanying blackened metal scabbard has an integrated belt frog lug marked ‘Б 3173’ (B 3173), which appears to be a serial number.
Condition report:
Fair to good, well-used condition. The blued steel blade exhibits extensive surface wear, scratches, and finish loss, with minor corrosion present. The steel crossguard and muzzle ring also show wear and some finish loss. The wooden grip panels are visibly worn, with carved initials \'TM\' or \'M\' present. The metal scabbard is blackened and shows extensive surface wear, scratches, and finish loss, consistent with age and active use. Minor corrosion is present on metal parts of both bayonet and scabbard.
