Lot 1262:
A Finnish M27 Mosin Nagant Bolt-Action Rifle, dated 1939
Sold for: $550
Description
This bolt-action military rifle is identified as a Finnish M27 Mosin Nagant, chambered in 7.62x54R. It is constructed with a reddish-brown stained wooden stock and forearm, featuring blued steel components for the barrel, receiver, and magazine well. The bolt mechanism is finished in a bright, polished metal. Visible markings on the receiver include “SER: SA-85731”, “SKY S.T.Y.L. 85731”, and the year “1939”. The number “8731” is present on the bolt handle, suggesting matching parts. The “SKY” and “SA” markings are consistent with Finnish (Suojeluskunnan Yliesikunnan Asevarikko – Civil Guard High Staff Armory / Suomen Armeija – Finnish Army) provenance.
Condition report:
The wooden elements display an attractive grain with minor surface wear, including scuffs and small dents. The blued metal shows areas of finish loss, thinning, and some mottled patination, particularly on the receiver. Overall, the rifle appears to be in good, used condition, exhibiting wear commensurate with its age and military service.
