Description

This lot comprises two distinct framed items. The first is a framed photograph depicting a U.S. Air Force Cessna T-37B Tweet trainer jet, marked “72267”, “U.S. AIR FORCE”, and “USAF” with national insignia, flying amidst clouds. The image is presented in an ornate gold-toned wooden frame. The second item is a framed historical diagram of the naval ship USS Weeden DE 797, noting its commissioning on February 19, 1944, in Orange, Texas, and mothballing in May 1946 in San Diego, California. The diagram details its service in “North Atlantic Convoy Duty” and “Phillipine Sea Frontier” as “Cort Div 56”, and includes a ship cross-section with labeled compartments and numerous superimposed photographic portraits of its crew. This historical print is housed in a black-painted wooden frame. Both items are under glass with cardboard backings, each fitted with a wire hanger; the second frame’s backing features a “Gallery One Mart” sticker from Freehold, NJ.

Condition report:

The photograph exhibits reddish discoloration, possibly due to age or sun exposure. The gold-toned wooden frame shows minor surface wear. The black-painted wooden frame of the diagram shows significant chipping and scuffs.
