Description
A Japanese Arisaka Type 99 bolt-action military rifle. Constructed from a full-length wooden stock and blued steel components. It features a tangent rear sight with folding wings, a hooded front sight, and a visible cleaning rod beneath the barrel. Markings on the receiver include a partially defaced Imperial Japanese Army chrysanthemum seal (ground mum), the Japanese characters ‘昭五年’ (Showa Year 5 / 1930), and the serial number ‘20687’ accompanied by factory or series designators.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits substantial wear consistent with age and use. The wooden stock shows numerous scratches and dents, and significant finish loss. The metalwork displays notable finish loss, patina, and minor pitting.
