Description
An original US World War II era leather pistol holster, manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal in 1942. This light brown leather military-style holster features an integral belt loop on the reverse, clearly stamped ‘ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL’, ‘1942’, and the initials ‘W.P.C.’. The front is embossed with the ‘US’ (United States) insignia. It has a flap closure secured by a brass stud. A thin leather thong or lanyard is attached to the holster’s base, near a small metal grommet. Designed for .45 caliber pistols or revolvers, such as the M1917 or M1911 models.
Condition report:
Overall good condition consistent with age and use. The leather exhibits surface wear, minor scuffs, and slight discoloration. All stitching appears intact. The brass stud and leather thong are present and functional.
