Lot 1366:
Sold for: $675
Description
A Winchester Pattern 1914 (P14) bolt-action military rifle, featuring a dark-stained wooden stock and forend with blued steel metal components. The rifle is equipped with a canvas or webbing sling attached via brass-toned hardware. Visible markings include “W 60047” on the receiver, indicating Winchester manufacture, and “303 F19 USA SPR 5P1H RN R2” on the barrel, confirming the .303 caliber and potential US origin. This model was primarily manufactured in the United States for British service during World War I. The rifle appears complete.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits wear consistent with age and service, including scratches, dents, and minor abrasions on the wooden stock and forend. Areas of finish loss are visible on the blued metal components, particularly on high points and edges, commensurate with use. The canvas sling shows signs of wear and discoloration. Overall, the rifle appears to be in serviceable, used condition.
