Description
A World War II era Japanese Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action military rifle, primarily constructed of a stained wooden stock and blued steel metal components. The receiver features visible Japanese characters “九九式” (Kyūkyū-shiki, meaning “Type 99”) and numerical markings “021209”. A partially defaced Imperial Japanese Army Chrysanthemum stamp is present on the receiver. This model is commonly chambered for 7.7x58mm Arisaka ammunition.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits significant wear consistent with age and field use. The wooden stock displays numerous scratches, dents, and surface abrasions. The blued finish on metal parts shows visible wear and loss. The Imperial Japanese Army Chrysanthemum stamp is partially defaced. Mechanical function has not been tested.
