Description

A blued steel bolt-action rifle receiver assembly, identified as a Japanese Type 38, complete with its bolt, trigger mechanism, and an integral magazine well. The receiver bridge features a prominent Imperial Japanese chrysanthemum symbol, alongside the Kanji characters “三八式” which translate to “Type 38”. A serial number, “82909,” is clearly visible on the side, accompanied by various circular inspection or proof marks. The styling suggests a military-issue firearm component, likely from the early to mid-20th century.

Condition report:

The metal surfaces exhibit significant wear to the original bluing, revealing a dark patina and areas of surface corrosion or pitting, especially on the lower parts of the action and within the magazine well. The bolt itself shows a brighter, worn metallic finish with minor pitting. The overall condition indicates considerable age and heavy use.
