Lot 147:
Finnish SAKO M39 Mosin Nagant Bolt Action Rifle, Dated 1942
Sold for: $575
Description
A Finnish SAKO M39 Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle, dated 1942. The rifle features a reddish-brown finished hardwood stock and blued steel components for the barrel and receiver. Receiver markings include “Finnish M-39”, the date “1942”, serial number “501514”, a stylized “S” within a gear motif (indicating SAKO manufacture), and “S.K.Y.”. The caliber “7.62x54R” is marked on the underside of the barrel, along with importer information “M-39 FINLAND 1S K.O.C.H. TR.”. The bright steel bolt features a round knob and is marked with the number “1514” on the handle, which does not match the receiver’s serial number. The rear sight is numerically graduated, and the buttstock is fitted with a black checkered buttplate.
Condition report:
Good, used condition. The rifle shows expected wear consistent with its age and military issue, including minor scuffs and dings on the hardwood stock. There is some finish loss on the blued metal parts. The bolt is bright steel.
