The robust steel guard incorporates a hooked quillon and a muzzle ring, with alphanumeric stamps ‘7559’, ‘C.P.’ (possibly), and ‘869’ present on the guard and quillon. The grip is formed by two dark wooden scales, secured by rivets, and is attached to a steel pommel that includes an apparent release mechanism.
