Yugoslavian M48 Mauser Bayonet with Scabbard, Factory 44, 1944

Description
A Yugoslavian M48 Mauser Bayonet with its accompanying metal scabbard. The bayonet features a blued steel blade with a fullered profile and a wooden grip secured by two metal rivets. It is fitted with a blued metal crossguard, which includes an integrated muzzle ring, and a blued metal pommel with a visible lug slot. Markings on the blade’s ricasso include “ПРЕДУЗЕЋЕ” over “44”, indicating a 1944 manufacture from Factory 44. A serial number “65454” is stamped on the crossguard, and “БК” inspector marks are present on both the ricasso and pommel. The blued metal scabbard, showing considerable surface wear and scratches, is fitted with a belt frog stud marked “15247”, indicating a mismatched serial number.
Condition report:
Used condition. The bayonet blade retains much of its blued finish, with surface wear, scuffs, and minor scratches. The wooden grip shows wear, nicks, and some darkening consistent with age and use. The crossguard and pommel exhibit finish loss and surface wear. The scabbard displays considerable surface wear, scratches, and areas of finish loss, particularly around the frog stud. The scabbard\'s frog stud has a mismatched serial number. Overall consistent with a vintage military artifact.
