Description
A Russian Model 1891/30 Mosin Nagant Rifle Bayonet Spike. This utilitarian socket bayonet is constructed from a dark ferrous metal, likely steel, featuring a triangular cruciform blade with a prominent fuller on each side, tapering to a sharpened point. The blade transitions into a cylindrical socket with an offset locking lug and a retaining ring, designed for attachment to a rifle barrel. Visible stamped markings include “A83-14” on one side of the blade’s base and “5548” on the opposing side.
Condition report:
The bayonet exhibits considerable wear, including surface scratches, scuffs, areas of light pitting and oxidation, and remnants of what appears to be a green patina or residue, all consistent with its age and use.
