Description
A Swiss Schmidt-Rubin Model 1889 Infantry Rifle, chambered for 7.5×53.5mm ammunition. This military bolt-action rifle features blued steel construction and a wooden stock, likely walnut, exhibiting a reddish-brown hue. Key components include a distinctive external box magazine, a large ring bolt handle, and a prominent red-brown knob on the bolt assembly. Visible markings include the serial number “137035” stamped on the receiver/barrel, accompanied by smaller “G. 4” and “04” markings. A circular cartouche, containing a stylized symbol or letter (possibly ‘G’), is impressed into the left side of the buttstock, while “55” is stamped on the metal butt plate.
