Description
This is a Japanese Produced Type 46 Siamese Mauser bolt-action military rifle. It is constructed from blued steel with a full-length, dark-stained wooden stock and forend, featuring a traditional profile with a prominent handguard and a straight grip. Visible markings on the receiver include a Japanese Imperial Army chrysanthemum emblem, beneath which are characters transliterating to “Kyūkyū-shiki,” translating as “Type 99.” A serial number “75553” is present on the left side of the receiver, alongside several smaller circular arsenal or inspection marks on various metal components including the receiver, bolt, and barrel bands. The design is typical of early to mid-20th-century service rifles.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits wear consistent with age and use. The wooden stock and forend show numerous scratches and dents. Metal parts display general bluing loss with minor surface oxidation. No significant structural damage or severe corrosion is immediately visible. The action appears to function.
