Description

A vintage U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer’s dress blue uniform ensemble, likely dating to the Vietnam Era, by Novakooff Bros. Uniforms, Boston. The collection comprises a double-breasted jacket with gold-toned metal buttons, two pairs of matching 100% navy blue wool trousers (one bell-bottom style, one standard), and a black fabric belt with a metal buckle. The jacket features a metallic insignia, likely aviation wings, and three ribbon bars on the chest. Embroidered rank insignia on the left sleeve (wearer’s right) depicts an eagle, a specialist rating, three chevrons, and a star, complemented by four gold service stripes on the lower sleeve. Internal garment labels include “WORLD FAMOUS Novakooff Bros. UNIFORMS BOSTON” and “U. S. NAVY” with contract number “DA-36-243-QM(CTM) 2591 O.I.-1488-C-58”. The belt buckle is engraved “USS MARIANO G. VALLEJO” and “SSBN-658”, centering a detailed submarine warfare insignia.

Condition report:

The uniform appears in good, used condition. The belt buckle exhibits visible surface scratches, and the belt fabric shows some minor discoloration.
