Description
A German World War I 1914-1918 Cross of Honour, commonly known as the Hindenburg Cross, manufactured by Ochs & Bonn (O.&B.). This military commemorative medal is fashioned from a dark-toned base metal, likely bronze, and features a cross design. The obverse displays a central laurel wreath encircling the dates “1914 1918,” with crossed swords visible behind the wreath. It is suspended from a horizontally striped fabric ribbon in black, cream/white, and red. The reverse of the medal bears the raised initials “O.&B.”.
Condition report:
Good condition. The metal component displays an aged patina consistent with its age. The fabric ribbon shows some fraying at its top edges.
