Sold for: $55
Description
A pair of U.S. WWI M1917/M1918 .45 ACP military ammunition pouches, containing 18 rounds of .45 ACP military ammunition. The lot comprises two khaki-colored canvas military-style pouches with metal snap closures, both exhibiting substantial signs of use. The pouch on the left is a triple-compartment design, each section secured by an individual flap with a black metal snap. It contains several brass-cased cartridges with lead bullets. Stamped on its interior flap are the markings “H. LONG” and “7 – 18”. The pouch on the right is a double-compartment design with a single overarching flap secured by two black metal snaps. It is marked on its interior flap with “2430”, “P.B. & CO.”, and “10 – 1918”. The included ammunition consists of 18 brass-cased cartridges with lead bullets, consistent with .45 ACP military ammunition designed for use with half-moon clips in M1917 revolvers.
Condition report:
Both items display extensive wear, dirt, and staining consistent with period military use, yet appear structurally sound. Metal snaps show oxidation but remain functional. Ammunition exhibits age-appropriate patina.
