Gun Collectors Dream Auction #79 Weapons of War
Lot 409:
Sold for: $300
Description
A Russian Mosin-Nagant M91 bolt-action military surplus rifle. This example was manufactured by the Izhevsky Arms Factory in 1905, as evidenced by the Cyrillic markings “ИЖЕВСКIЙ ОРУЖЕЙНЫЙ ЗАВОДЪ 1905г.” on the receiver. The rifle features a wooden stock and blued steel components. An “SA” cartouche is present on the receiver, indicating Finnish military property. Further markings on the barrel read “CAI ST.ALB.VT” and “M91 7.62R RUSS,” identifying it as an M91 model in 7.62 Russian caliber, imported by Century Arms International of St. Albans, Vermont. A partial serial number “444” is visible on the bolt. Leather straps are present in the sling swivels.
Condition report:
Fair to good used condition. The wooden stock exhibits expected wear, scuffs, and some areas of finish loss consistent with military service and age. The blued steel components show finish loss, particularly on high points and edges, with some areas of minor surface oxidation. Mechanically appears to be in working order, but functionality has not been tested. The bore condition is unknown.
