Description
A US Model 1905 bayonet manufactured by Rock Island Armory, dated 1908, accompanied by its scabbard. The bayonet features a polished steel blade with double fullers. The ricasso is marked “US” on one side, and “R.I.A.” above a flaming bomb ordnance mark and “1908” on the reverse. The hilt and guard are crafted from darkened metal, complementing the ribbed wooden grip, which is secured by a single screw. The accompanying scabbard consists of a khaki canvas body, a brown leather tip, and metal belt hardware.
Condition report:
Consistent wear commensurate with age and use. The blade shows minor discoloration and surface wear. Metal components exhibit patination. The canvas and leather of the scabbard show fading and staining.
