Description
An original vintage fabric flag from the Kingdom of Italy, dating to World War II. This flag is constructed from sewn textile panels forming a vertical tricolor of green, white, and red. Centered on the white stripe is an appliquéd shield emblem, outlined in dark blue, depicting a red field with a prominent white cross, representing the House of Savoy. The hoist edge features a reinforced canvas band with a woven rope and a brass-toned swivel clip.
Condition report:
The flag exhibits significant signs of age and use, including overall fading, widespread white spotting and discoloration on the fabric, creasing, and general wear, consistent with a historical textile. Minor fraying to edges and some loose threads are present.
