Lot 1108:
100 Rounds Winchester Deer Season XP Copper Impact 130-Grain Ammunition (Actual Caliber .270 WSM, Boxes Labeled .270 WIN)
Sold for: $180
Description
This lot comprises 100 rounds of Winchester Deer Season XP Copper Impact 130-grain Copper Extreme Point ammunition, presented in five new, sealed boxes. Each box is labeled “WINCHESTER DEER SEASON XP 270 WIN 130 GRAIN COPPER EXTREME POINT” and states “20 ROUNDS.” However, a close inspection of the individual cartridges reveals headstamps distinctly marked “WINCHESTER 270 WSM,” indicating the actual ammunition caliber is .270 Winchester Short Magnum, despite the exterior packaging specifying .270 Winchester. The modern packaging features deer graphics and prominent text, including “WINCHESTER,” “DEER SEASON XP,” and “MADE IN USA.” Safety warnings are printed in both English and French, with the French text reading “AVERTISSEMENT: Tenir hors de la portée des enfants. Lire tous les avertissements sur l’emballage.” A detailed back panel on each box provides ballistic data and manufacturer information (Winchester LLC, East Alton, IL, USA), with the product code X270DSLF visible on the barcode. Individual cartridges feature pristine brass casings and red-tipped projectiles.
Condition report:
The five boxes are in excellent, unopened condition, retaining their original factory seals. The ammunition cartridges appear pristine with no visible signs of wear or corrosion. A significant discrepancy exists between the caliber stated on the exterior packaging (\'270 WIN\') and the headstamps of the individual cartridges (\'270 WSM\'). Bidders are advised to verify the actual caliber of the ammunition for their intended use.
