Description
A decorative sword and matching scabbard, featuring a hilt intricately cast with multiple reclining female figures, consistent with examples referred to as ‘Nude Nymph’ or ‘Aphrodite Beauty’ swords in the market. The double-edged polished metal blade is visibly marked ‘STAINLESS CHINA’ on the ricasso. The elaborately ornamented, silver-toned hilt comprises a grip intricately cast with the aforementioned figures, a curved crossguard with a green and yellow enamel-like sunburst or floral motif, and a circular pommel adorned with a blue and yellow compass rose or star emblem. The accompanying scabbard is crafted from matching silver-toned metal, decorated with three ornate fittings featuring foliate designs and a similar orange/yellow enamel-like motif at the throat. The entire piece exhibits a modern, possibly fantasy-inspired style.
Condition report:
Good overall condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and display. The blade shows light surface scratching. Enamel-like motifs are intact with no significant losses. No visible repairs or restoration.
