Description
A compact, hammer-fired revolver of the “British Bull Dog” type, likely from the late 19th or early 20th century. The firearm is constructed of steel with checkered wooden grip panels. Visible markings include “BRITISH” and “BULLDOG” engraved on the top strap. Other discernible marks include the number “51” on the frame below the cylinder, and several smaller proof marks on the left frame and barrel, notably a crown over a letter (appearing as ‘V’ or ‘B’) followed by “1 84”.
Condition report:
Fair condition commensurate with age and use. The metal surfaces exhibit significant wear, with extensive loss of the original nickel-plated finish. Widespread pitting and surface corrosion are present across metal components. The checkered wooden grip panels show wear but are intact and stable.
