Description
A vintage double-barreled side-by-side hammer shotgun by W.W. Moore & Co London, featuring an underlever break-action. The barrels are marked ‘W.W. MOORE & Co LONDON FINELLY MAKERS’ along the rib. Additional visible markings on the barrel flats include stylized proof marks, the number ‘II,’ ‘A.P.,’ and ’27.’ It is constructed from wood and dark-patinated steel or iron components.
Condition report:
The wooden stock and forend exhibit significant darkening, staining, and surface scratches, with some areas of wear and minor cracking, particularly visible on the buttstock. The metal components, including the barrels, receiver, and trigger guard, show extensive surface wear, pitting, and a dark, uneven oxidation, consistent with considerable age and use.
