Lot 218:
A Group of Six Vintage Winchester Primers for Shotshells Boxes
Sold for: $50
Description
A group of six vintage Winchester-branded cardboard boxes, each containing “PRIMERS FOR SHOTSHELLS.” The packaging features a stylized hunter and horseman logo and includes prominent “WARNING” and “DANGER” labels, noting their “Highly flammable” nature and the need to “Keep away from heat or flame.” Internally, three black plastic trays are present, holding numerous metallic primers. Each primer has an orange/copper-colored body and a silver-toned cap.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes exhibit significant age-related wear, discoloration, and prominent brown staining, suggesting past exposure to moisture or environmental factors. The metallic primers display varying degrees of corrosion, with green and white powdery residue visible on many units. This residue is particularly concentrated in the lower rows of the trays, indicating a compromised condition of the primers.
