Description
A single-action revolver, manufactured by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in Western Germany, model ‘Western Marshal,’ chambered in .22 caliber. The barrel is engraved “J.P. SAUER & SOHN,” “MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY,” “18631/2,” “WESTERN MARSHAL,” and “.22 CALIBER.” The frame is marked “HAWES FIREARMS CO. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.” It features a black metal finish and faux-staghorn, light yellow grips detailed with dark brown accents. Accompanying the revolver is a brown leather Western-style holster, featuring stitched edges and a snap-button retention strap. The reverse belt loop of the holster bears faint stampings ‘T.C.’ and ‘PORTLAND, OREGON 823.’
Condition report:
The revolver shows significant wear to its finish, with scratches, areas of finish loss, and visible surface rust on the hammer and around the cylinder. The accompanying leather holster exhibits typical wear and darkening consistent with age and use.
