Description
A Sears, Roebuck and Co. Model 101.0040 single-shot, break-action shotgun, chambered in .410 gauge with a 3-inch chamber. This model, retailed by Sears, Roebuck and Co., is visually consistent with firearms manufactured by Stevens (Savage Arms) for store brands. The firearm features a dark blued steel barrel and a blued or case-hardened steel receiver, paired with a light-colored wooden buttstock and fore-end. A black rubber buttplate is fitted to the stock. Visible markings on the barrel include “PROOF TESTED .410 GAUGE” and “3 INCH CHAMBER.” The receiver is clearly marked “SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO.”, “MODEL 101.0040”, and prominently features the “SEARS” diamond logo, along with the serial number “A186341”.
Condition report:
