The shotgun features a pistol grip stock and a ribbed forend, consistent with a modern tactical style. Markings on the receiver include “Mossberg®”, “MADE IN U.S.A.”, “NORTH HAVEN, CONN.”, and “500A 12 GA.”. The barrel is marked “CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS”, “12 GA – 20 IN.
