Sold for: $95
Description
This lot comprises 100 rounds of vintage rifle ammunition, featuring five distinct cardboard retail boxes from manufacturers Peters, Winchester, Savage, Hawthorne, and Western. All retail boxes specify “.30-06 Springfield” caliber with bullet weights ranging from 150 to 180 grains. The Winchester box is identified as ‘Super Speed Silvertip’, consistent with web intelligence. Some boxes display warnings such as “KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.” Additionally, two plain cardboard boxes contain loose cartridges. One plain box appears full, while the other contains a mixed assortment, some bearing a handwritten inscription “130 50 gr.” The loose cartridges are predominantly brass-cased with copper-tipped projectiles.
Condition report:
The overall condition of the ammunition and packaging is mixed, reflective of older stock. The retail boxes exhibit visible wear, scuffs, and discoloration consistent with age, including minor crushing on the Peters box. The loose cartridges show varying conditions, with some displaying tarnish or minor corrosion.
