Description
A J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Favorite falling block rifle, manufactured in Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A. This antique or early 20th-century single-shot, lever-action rimfire rifle is constructed from blued steel and features a varnished wooden buttstock and fore-end. Visible markings on the barrel identify the manufacturer as “J. STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO. CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.” The caliber is marked as “22-W.R.F.” (.22 Winchester Rimfire). The number “702” is present on the right side of the receiver.
Condition report:
Overall fair to poor condition, consistent with age and extensive use. The metal surfaces exhibit significant finish loss, heavy dark brown patina, scattered rust, and pitting. The wooden components show considerable wear, numerous scratches, dents, and areas of finish loss. The buttstock is notably missing its original buttplate.
