Lot 93:
Thompson Center Renegade Hawken Percussion Rifle, .50 Caliber, Serial No. 60829
Sold for: $200
Description
A modern percussion cap muzzleloading rifle, identified as a Thompson Center Renegade Hawken model. The rifle features a heavy, octagonal steel barrel with a dark blued finish, paired with a polished reddish-brown wooden stock, likely walnut. The lock plate and hammer display decorative scroll engraving, with the lock plate exhibiting a vibrant, albeit somewhat worn, case-hardened finish. Visible markings on the barrel clearly state “THOMPSON / CENTER ARMS” and “ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE,” alongside “CAL. 50” (Caliber .50) and the serial number “60829.” A wooden ramrod with metal furniture is fitted beneath the barrel. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable rear sight and a black, textured buttplate, consistent with rubber construction.
Condition report:
Overall very good condition. The stock exhibits minor surface scratches consistent with use. The metal components show some wear to the bluing and minor surface corrosion, particularly around the breech and lock area. The case-hardened finish on the lock plate is vibrant but shows signs of wear.
