Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 1097:
Sold for: $30
Description
A collection of three fixed-blade utility and hunting knives accompanied by three associated leather sheaths. The sheaths are consistent in style and construction with patterns associated with KA-BAR military issue, including models such as the 1217S and 1220S. The lot comprises three distinct knives: The first knife features a stacked black composite handle with aluminum fittings. The second knife is constructed with dark wood handle scales secured by brass rivets, and the blade is visibly stamped CHINA. The third knife is fitted with a curved antler or bone handle, a brass guard, and a dark, heavily forged blade. The associated sheaths include one brown leather sheath, one black leather sheath, and one tan leather sheath which is clearly stamped U.S. ARMY.
Condition report:
The four vintage cardboard ammunition boxes show significant wear, fading, creasing, and edge damage consistent with long-term storage and age. The Winchester box features heavy handwritten notations. The 71 brass components (cases/cartridges) are in mixed condition; some appear moderately clean, while others exhibit tarnish, patina, and patches of verdigris, typical for vintage reloading components. We have not verified whether any of the components are live loaded ammunition or inert empty brass; they are sold strictly as vintage components for collecting or reloading purposes. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
