Description
This lot consists of 40 rounds of loaded rifle ammunition in 8 mm Mauser caliber (.323 diameter), packaged in two vintage Remington cardboard boxes. The ammunition features brass cases with R-P (Remington-Peters) headstamps and copper-jacketed spitzer projectiles. The packaging is green and orange and is explicitly marked “Remington,” “Empty Center Fire Cases,” “20 UNPRIMED CASES,” and “8 mm Mauser” (U8MSR code), indicating the boxes were originally intended for reloading components, but currently contain complete, loaded ammunition. The boxes also bear multiple vintage retail stickers, including those from DAVE COOK and SWANSON FIREARMS.
Condition report:
The original blued finish shows significant handling wear, scratches, and moderate finish loss, particularly noticeable on the cylinder and frame flats. The cylinder shows a visible drag line. The hammer and trigger show evidence of browning, patina, or light surface rust. The black checkered polymer grips show wear, and a crack is visible along the backstrap seam at the bottom. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes upon visual inspection, but we have not function-tested this firearm.
