Description
This lot features a single RCBS single-stage reloading press, identified as an early model RCBS Rock Chucker or similar heavy-duty C-frame press, consistent with the patent date and design. The press features a robust cast C-frame construction finished in the characteristic RCBS bright green enamel. The linkage arm is clearly marked with the patent number PAT NO 2,847,895. The frame is marked RCBS. The press includes the dark steel operating rod with a dark green handle grip, and a small plastic case catcher attachment is installed. The press is offered with its partially visible original cardboard packaging, which confirms the RCBS brand and identifies the kit as a ROCKER COMBO model. This item is a reloading tool and is not classified as a firearm; no FFL transfer is required.
Condition report:
The original blued finish shows significant wear consistent with field use. The receiver exhibits numerous surface scratches and handling marks, particularly across the flat surfaces. The barrel retains a stronger finish but also shows surface scratches near the muzzle and forend. The wood furniture retains its high-gloss finish but has various dings, scratches, and pressure marks typical of age. The factory checkering remains mostly crisp. CRITICAL NOTE: The original hard polymer buttplate is severely dry, cracked, and deteriorated, requiring replacement. The action appears to function correctly when manually cycled.
