Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 125:
Sold for: $110
Description
A vintage fixed-blade utility knife and accompanying leather sheath, totaling two items. The knife features a broad, clip-point steel blade, stamped CRAFTSMAN over U.S.A. on the ricasso. The handle is constructed from a contoured, two-toned composite or plastic material, mottled dark brown and light tan, featuring a textured grip area. The handle is secured by a brass-toned oval crossguard and a bright metal pommel. The accompanying light brown leather sheath is stitched and secured with metal rivets along the edges and includes a retention strap with a snap closure.
Condition: Apparent condition is fair to poor, consistent with heavy use and age. The steel blade is heavily stained, scratched, pitted, and oxidized throughout, particularly near the tip. The handle shows discoloration and minor surface cracking near the crossguard. The brass-toned crossguard shows patina. The leather sheath is used with visible wear, discoloration, and scuffs.
