Description

This lot consists of one Redding Model #3 Master Powder Measure, manufactured by Redding-Hunter Inc., Cortland, New York. This vintage equipment is designed for accurately dispensing gunpowder charges for metallic cartridge reloading. The main body is constructed of cast metal, finished in the characteristic olive green textured paint. The measure features a black steel crank handle with a teardrop knob controlling the rotary metering drum, which is finished in bright, polished bare metal. The unit includes the original, disassembled translucent amber/yellow plastic powder hopper and a separate green cast mounting component. The original worn tan cardboard packaging box is included, confirming the model number and manufacturer details. Visible markings include REDDING and REDDING-HUNTER INC., CORTLAND, NEW YORK on the body label and the box. The adjustment rod is marked with white increment markings (0, 20, 40, 60). This item is classified as reloading equipment and is not a firearm or ammunition.

Condition report:

The representative firearm exhibits moderate to heavy use consistent with field or duty service. The matte black finish shows significant finish loss, numerous surface scratches, and scuff marks, particularly on the receiver flats. There are scattered patches of light surface oxidation or rust visible, notably on the magazine tube and the visible bolt assembly. The polymer grips show wear and handling marks but appear structurally sound. The bore condition is unknown as we cannot visually inspect it. The pump action appears to function correctly, cycling the bolt when operated manually. We have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
